A very warm December day 9 - 11C, thick low cloud with a blustery strong SW wind

Washington Avenue - Sparrowhawk 

New South Promenade - 200 Knot, 30 sanderlings

The Great grey shrike is still present near the traffic lights on Queensway just over our southern border

Mild again 5 - 10C mostly cloudy, moderate WSW wind

Marton Mere LNR - Stoat (with prey - looked like it could have been a water rail), barn owl, 54 wigeon, goldeneye, 2 Cetti's warblers, water rail

Stanley Park - 6 great crested grebe, 5 pochards 

Lawson's field - a few fieldfares

New South Promenade - 'Northern' type herring gull

New South Promenade - 2 Grey seals, 1000 common scoters, 2 swans (sat on sea but too distant for identification)

A cold start and average finish -3 - 7C mostly sunny with a very light northerly wind

New South Promenade - 3 Great crested grebes, 3 red throated divers, 3 eiders

North Shore - 2 Harbour porpoises, eider, 2 red throated divers, rock pipit (S)

North Shore go-kart track - 4 Purple sandpipers, 30 redshank, 80 turnstones

Stanley Park - 6 Great crested grebes, 21 gadwall, 39 shovelers, 64 tufted ducks, 4 pochards

Marton Mere LNR - Pintail, 15 wigeon, 4 water rails, 2 stonechats, fieldfare, 5 redwings, goldcrest, Cetti's warbler, grey wagtail

A dull grey day with about average temperatures for December 2 - 8C no wind.

Manchester Square pumping station - 4 Meadow pipits

Just over our southern border the Great grey shrike is still and Queensway west of the traffic lights and there are two Snow buntings on the beach opposite the former Pontins site.

Marton Mere LNR - 50 Wigeon, 20 shovelers, goldeneye, grey wagtail, buzzard, 3 goldcrests, 3 Cetti's warblers, 2 water rails

Saturday 29th November

New South Promenade - Grey seal

The Great grey shrike is still just over our border on the west side of Queensway opposite the track to Eaterleigh Animal sanctuary
