Temperatures were average for late March 4 - 11C, heavy rain and sunny spells with a strong westerly wind

New South Promenade - Blunt gaper shell, edible whelk eggs, common periwinkles, limpet, brown shrimp, Gammarid shrimp, beadlet anemone

Marton Mere LNR - 10 Snakeshead fritillaries (just about to flower), white wagtail, 2 pied wagtails, little grebe, 2 great crested grebes, 10 teal, goldeneye, 2 oystercatchers, 2 sparrowhawks, 4 Cetti's warblers

Marton Mere LNR - Stoat, 4 Sand martins, wigeon, little grebe, 3 great crested grebes, water rail, curlew (over), many meadow pipits (over), 2 goldcrests, 130 fieldfares, 35 linnets, 2 stock doves, 5 chiffchaffs, 6 Cetti's warblers, 6 skylarks (NW), 3 oystercatchers, 2 lapwings

Heron's Reach golf couse - 2 Gadwall (pr), little grebe, 160 pink footed geese (N), buzzard (over), small tortoiseshell, 5 bumble bees

Town Centre Sainsburys - Grey wagtail

Snakeshead fritillary

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.

There will be a children's birdwatching guided walk at Marton Mere LNR led by Dave McGrath on Friday 10th April, 2 - 4.00pm. Suitable for youngsters aged 8 and over. Please wear suitable footwear and bring binoculars and your camera if you have them.
