Monday 11th May

A mixed May day with warm nights and a cold day 10 - 12C heavy overnight rain then mostly sunny spells with a strong SW wind

Marton Mere LNR - 2 Lesser whitethroats, grasshopper warbler, 4 willow warblers, 2 chiffchaffs, 5 Cetti's warblers, 2 pairs linnets, 4 swifts, 2 grey wagtails, several elvers       
                                              












New South Promenade - Harbour porpoise, grey seal, 8 Manx shearwaters, 40 gannets, 2 common terns, guillemot

Stanley Park - Treecreeper, 2 pairs great crested grebes + juvs, 2 swifts, 10 house martins, 15 sand martins

North Blackpool Pond Trail - Pair Great crested grebes + juv, pair grest spotted woodpeckers, 3 tufted ducks

Lawson's field - 2 Wheatears, 2 whitethroats

Lawson's Wetland - Lesser whitethroat, kestrel

Still cool for early May with temperatures struggling to reach average 2 - 15C mosstly sunny spells with some lengthy periods of rain on Friday. Winds variable in direction and moderate in strength

Sunday 10th May

Marton Mere LNR - 30 Swifts, 15 house martins, 10 swallows,  lesser witethroat, 2 sparrowhawks, buzzard

Stanley Park - Spotted flycatcher

Blackpool 6th form College - 2 Lesser whitethroats, 3 blackcaps,5 linnets

Saturday 9th May

Marton Mere LNR - Common sandpiper, 2 sand martins, great spotted woodpecker, 2 lesser whitethroats, 4 Cetti's warblers, 2 whitethroats, 2 swifts, buzzard, toad.

Lawson's Wetland - Whinchat, 6 reed buntings, 6 swallows, sedge warbler, Cetti's warbler

Watson Road Park - Swift

Friday 8th May

Lawson's Wetland - 2 Sedge warblers, whitethroat, Cetti's warbler, kestrel

Stanley Park - 2 Treecreepers

New South Promenade - 50 Sandwich terns (resting on beach)

Marton - 4 Swifts

Marton Mere LNR - Stoat (with prey), 4 Cetti's warblers, grasshopper warbler

Lawson's Wetland - Kestrel, grasshopper warbler, Cetti's warbler, 2 sedge warblers, whitethroat

Solaris Centre - Tree bee, red tailed bumble bee, buff tailed bumble bee, cinnabar moth

De Vere entrance pool - Reed warbler, mistle thrush (recently fledged juvenile)

Warmer than recently 9 - 14C Rain then sunny spells with heavy rain in the evening, blustery SE wind turning south westerly.

Town Centre - Peregrine

Stanley Park - 3 Swifts

Starr Gate - 2 Manx shearwaters, great skua, Arctic skua, fulmar, 2 red breasted mergansers, 25 Sandwich terns, 6 common terms

4-Spotted chaser - look out for these they'll be on the wing soon

Still cool for the time of year 0 - 14C. A mixed weekend with some sunny spells and heavy rain on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. A strong easterly wind lightened and turned south westerly on Monday.

Monday 4th May

Starr Gate - Fulmar (S), 22 gannets, 13 Arctic terns, 8 Sandwich terns, 13 whimbrels (N)

Marton Mere LNR - Swift, 10 whimbrels (on island), whinchat (on island), 12 blackcaps, 2 sedge warblers, 6 reed warblers, 5 Cetti's warblers, 4 chiffchaffs, lesser whitethroat, 4 whitethroats, little grebe, 5 stock doves, orange tip butterfly

De Vere Hotel entrance pond - 2 reed warblers

Lawson's Wetland - Cetti's warbler

Sunday 3rd May

Marton Mere LNR - Green sandpiper, common sandpiper, whinchat, lesser whitethroat, 3 Cetti's warbler

Saturday 2nd May

Stanley Park - 20 Coots, 6 tufted ducks, 4 great crested grebes

Lawson's Wetland - Grasshopper warbler

Marton Mere LNR - Wood warbler, lesser whitethroat, great spotted woodpecker

Friday 1st May

Lawson's Wetland - Roe deer, Cetti's warbler, whitethroat

Gynn Gardens - Redstart, whitethroat, 2 willow warblers

Marton Mere LNR - 4 Chiffchaffs, 3 willow warblers, 2 Cetti's warblers, 6 reed warblers, 2 common sandpipers, buzzard

Staining Nook - Lesser whitethroat

Stanley Park - 2 pairs of Great crested grebes with young, 2 common sandpipers

Warbreck Hill - Chiffchaff, 2 grey lag geese
