New South Promenade - Little gull, Scandinavian herring gull

Lawson's field - 2 Mistle thrushes

Marton Mere LNR - Iceland gull (Same as above), 2 long eared owls (DO NOT LEAVE THE PATHS TO VIEW/PHOTOGRAPH THESE BIRDS), 2 little grebes, 5 goldeneyes, peregrine, 37 fieldfares, redwing, 5 water rails, woodccock, goldcrest, 3 Cetti's warblers

North Shore - 2 Little gulls (N), 2 shelducks (N), 5 kittiwakes (N)

Staining Nook - 21 Fieldfares, 3 redwings

New South Promenade - Little gull, 2 kittiwakes

North Shore - 21 Little gulls

Lawson's Wetland - Kestrel, stonechat, 2 meadow pipits

Marton Mere LNR - Iceland gull, woodcock, 3 long eared owls (DO NOT LEAVE THE  PATHS TO VIEW THESE BIRDS), peregrine, little grebe, 4 goldeneyes, 4 pochards, 125 wigeon, 10 stock doves

New South Promenade - 2 Kittiwakes, 175 oystercatchers

North Pier - 30000 Starlings, kittiwake, sparrowhawk

Starr Gate - 39 Little gulls, Mediterannean gull, 5 kittiwakes

Beechfield Avenue  - 32 Goldfinches (roosting)

Marton Mere LNR - 4 Siskins, treecreeper, 2 goldcrests, 2 coal tits, little grebe, 2 great crested grebes, 4 goldeneyes, 3 pochards, sparrowhawk, kestrel, water rail, 9 stock doves, 28 fieldfares

Monday 1st February

Mild again but feeling cool in the strong wind 6 - 12C mostly sunny with gale force westerly winds

Town Centre - Peregrine

New South Promenade - 2 Little gulls, 5 kittiwakes, yellow legged gull, 2000 herring gulls (feeding on storm wrecked shellfish), 5 pintails (S), skua sp (N)

Solaris Centre - 20 House sparrows

Lawson's Wetland - Kestrel

Norbreck - 100 Kittiwakes (S)

North Shore - 50 Little gulls

Marton Mere LNR - Little Gull, bearded tit, 2 long eared owls, 2 shelducks, little grebe, 4 goldeneyes, 4 pochards, 35 black tailed godwits (W)

Evening - Nacreous clouds, a rare sight this far south. Formed high (9 - 15 miles) in the stratosphere at tmeperatures as low as -78C

A mild but windy weekend, 4 - 11C wintry showers with a very strong westerly wind making it feel much cooler than the temperatures suggest

Marton Mere LNR - Bearded tit, little gull, 2 long eared owls, 2 tree sparrows, 6 pochards, 2 kestrels, sparrowhawk, 400 teal, 75 wigeon, 3 Cetti's warblers

Starr Gate - Little gull

Saturday 30th January

Marton Mere LNR - Peregrine, long eared owl, 2 great crested grebes, 5 goldeneyes

Friday 29th January

Marton Mere LNR - 4 Goldeneyes, 3 pochards, great spotted woodpecker
