Slightly cooler than average for January 0 - 6C sunny spells, brisk NW wind

Marton Mere LNR - Firecrest, 3 Cetti's warblers, 2 water rails, goosander/red breasted merganser (over)

New South Promenade - Limpet, 250 common scoters, 'thousands' of common sand stars & hundreds of Brittle stars among the storm wrecked shells.

Thursday 28th January

A slightly cooler than average Janusry day 0 - 4C overcasat with sleety showers, brisk W wind.

Marton Mere LNR - Firecrest (Also seen yesterday and videod), goldcrest, treecreeper

Sunday 25th January

North Blackpool Pond Trail Kincraig Lake - Shoveler, great crested grebe, tufted duck, grey wagtail

Staining Nook - Bullfinch (SW)

Marton Mere LNR - 4 Pochards, water rail, kestrel, buzzard, 150 lapwings, 2 stock doves, goldcrest, 80 linnets

Lawson's Wetland - Redwing

Saturday 24th January

Marton Tesco - 55 Pied wagtails (pre roost gathering)

Marton Mere LNR - Iceland gull, redwing, 7 gadwall, 3 goldeneyes, buzzard, Cetti's warbler, snowdrops in flower

Lawson's Wetland - Stonechat

Friday 23rd January

Bond Street - Grey wagtail

The Great grey shrike continues its stay just over our southern boundary along Queensway

Another cold day -1 - 3C sunny spells with very light wind.

Ashworth Road - Iceland gull

Marton Mere LNR - Fox, 2 goldeneyes, 2 water rails, 2 stock doves, 23 fieldfares, 2 goldcrests, 2 Cetti's warblers, Firecrest (reported at lunchtime not seen throughout afternoon).

Cold and overcast 1 - 3C light easterly wind

Town Centre - Peacock butterfly

New South Promenade - Grey seal, 5 great crested grebes, red throated diver, a large fish jumped out of th sea

Marton Mere LNR - Long eared owl - Please do not leave to path to view/photograph these birds

North Shore - 2 Harbour porpoises, 400 common scoters , 34 eiders, 10 great crested grebes, 2 purple sandpipers, Mediterranean gull.

Lawson's Wetland - Stonechat

Marton Mere LNR - 3 Bullfinches, jack snipe, goldcrest, 35 fieldfares, 2 buzzards, 50 lapwings

New South Promenade - 5000 Common scoters, 850 cormorants, 18 red throated divers, 8 great crested grebes, 2 razorbills, guillemot, unidentified auk (S)

Starr Gate - 12000 Common scoters (N), great northern diver, 6 red throated divers, 3 razorbills

Marton Mere LNR - Firecrest, goldcrest, 2 Cetti's warblers, 3 water rails, 40 fieldfares, redwing, Iceland gull, little owl, barn owl, 7 tree sparrows
