Marton Mere LNR - Grey wagtail, little grebe, goldeneye, 37 shovelers, water rail, kestrel, 24 fieldfares, great spotted woodpecker, jackdaw (at the feeding station, unusual there), 3 Cetti's warblers, goldcrest

This week is National Nest Box Week - Have you put yours up yet? Don't forget you can put up boxes/cavities for Swifts, cups for House Martins and Swallows and 'terraced' boxes for House sparrows as well as the more familiar hole boxes for blue and Great tits. Old boots and flower pots can make a come for robins and Wrens. Please send us your unusual nest box photos and especially if they get used  later in the season.
