Weekend round-up 8th - 10th May

Still cool for early May with temperatures struggling to reach average 2 - 15C mosstly sunny spells with some lengthy periods of rain on Friday. Winds variable in direction and moderate in strength

Sunday 10th May

Marton Mere LNR - 30 Swifts, 15 house martins, 10 swallows,  lesser witethroat, 2 sparrowhawks, buzzard

Stanley Park - Spotted flycatcher

Blackpool 6th form College - 2 Lesser whitethroats, 3 blackcaps,5 linnets

Saturday 9th May

Marton Mere LNR - Common sandpiper, 2 sand martins, great spotted woodpecker, 2 lesser whitethroats, 4 Cetti's warblers, 2 whitethroats, 2 swifts, buzzard, toad.

Lawson's Wetland - Whinchat, 6 reed buntings, 6 swallows, sedge warbler, Cetti's warbler

Watson Road Park - Swift

Friday 8th May

Lawson's Wetland - 2 Sedge warblers, whitethroat, Cetti's warbler, kestrel

Stanley Park - 2 Treecreepers

De Vere hotel entrance pool - Reed warbler, 2 mistle thrushes

Average temperatures for the end of April 3 - 14C, mostly sunny with a little rain, variable winds from very light to cold blustery north westerlies

Stanley Park - 2 Common sandpipers, 4 sparrowhawks

North Balckpool Pond Trail Kincraig Lake - Great spotted woodpecker

North Blackpool Pond Trail Holyoake Avenue reed bed - Lesser whitethroat

Lawson's Wetland - Grasshopper warbler, snipe, Cetti's warbler

Staining Nook - Grasshopper warbler

Marton Mere LNR - Lesser whitethroat, 3 whitethroats, 8 reed warblers, 3 sedge warblers, 5 Cetti's warblers, common sandpiper, 3 great crested grebes, little grebe, buzzard, 2 kestrels, sparrowhawk, 30 sand martins

Warbreck Hill - Speckled wood butterfly

Whitegate Drive - Rook (very rare here)

Starr Gate - 2 Eiders

Friday 24th April

Staining Nook -  Sparrowhawk

Marton Mere LNR - 7 Whimbrel (W)

Revoe Park - Sparrowhawk

Stanley Park - 5 Blackcaps, 4 house martins, 2 sand martins, 30 swallows

De Vere Hotel entrance pool - Reed warbler

Blackpool 6th form college - Willow warbler, chiffchaff

Thursday 23rd April

Stanley Park - Pied flycatcher, wood warbler, redstart, 10 willow warblers, sparrowhawk, 2 mistle thrushes

Lawson's Wetland - 2 Grasshopper warblers, 2 Cetti's warblers, whinchat, 2 sedge warblers, 3 whitethroats

Salisbury Woodland - 2 Great spotted woodpeckers,

De Vere Hotel entrance pool - Reed warbler

Solaris Centre - Tree bee, unknown species of solitary bee.

North Blackpool Pond Trail community orchard - 6 Blackcaps, 8 chiffchaffs, 3 sparrowhawks

Marton Mere LNR - Lesser whitethroat
