Warm nights but below average days 12 - 19C mostly sunny spells with heavy rain on Friday evening and a strong south westerly wind all weekend

Devonshire Road Rock Gardens - Willow warbler, adult & juvenile sparrowhawk, whitethroat

Gynn Square (National Whale & Dolphin Watch) - 8 Golden plovers (S), curlew (S), 21 dunlin (S)

Mossom Nature Field - 2 Willow warblers, comma butterfly

Marton Mere LNR - Cetti's warbler, sparrowhawk

Stanley Park - 213 Coots, sand martin, 8 house martins, 5 pied wagtails

Saturday 29th July

Town Centre - 2 Peregrines

New South Promenade (National Whale & Dolphin Watch) - Grey seal, 150 common scoters

Stanley Park - Nuthatch, 3 great crested grebes

Marton Mere LNR - Otter, wigeon, kestrel

Friday 29th July

Marton Mere LNR - Bittern, kestrel, buzzard

Town Centre - Peregrine

Thursday 4th May

Warmest day of the year 6 - 18C sunny with a brisk easterly wind

Starr Gate - 2 Grey seals, puffin (N), 5 black terns (N), 2 little terns (N), 11 common terns, 3 red breasted mergansers (N), 23 Manx shearwaters (N), 12 gannets (N), 32 auk sp (N), 4 swallows (N)

Lindsay Avenue - 2 Swifts

Marton Mere LNR - Lesser whitethroat, 3 tree sparrows, 4 Cetti's warblers, little grebe, 4 linnets, kestrel, buzzard

Stanley Park - Goldcrest, 2 great crested grebes

Devonshire Road Rock Gardens - Lesser whitethroat, 2 blackcaps, 2 chiffchaffs, 2 speckled wood butterflies

EVENT - The Friends of North Blackpool Pond Trail are holding a Family Bird Bingo birdwatching morning on Saturday 6th May 10am - 12 noon. Meet at the Bird Viewing Area at Kincraig Lake opposite the Spar shop on Kincraig Road. Bring binoculars and camera if you have them.
This event is FREE but a donation to the Friends of North Blackpool Pond Trail would be welcome


EVENT - The Friends of North Blackpool Pond Trail are holding an Amphibian Survey on Monday 8th May 8pm - 10pm meet at the Spar shop on Kincraig Road bring a torch and wear your wellies

A cold day for mid-November 2 - 6C dull, rain later with a light easterly wind increasing to a strong northerly in the evening

Marton Mere LNR - Barn owl, 2 stonechats, 4 little grebes, redshank (over), 6 water rials, 2 buzzards, 200 rooks, 34 goldfinches, 2 goldcrests, blackcap, 4 Cetti's warblers

EVENT - Winter Birdwatch at Marton Mere LNR - Friday 11th Nov 10.00am - noon Meet at the gate to Lawson's Field opposite the end of Lancaster Road FY3 9TB Wrap up warm, wear suitable footwear and bring your binoculars and camera if you have them. Free but a donation to the Friends of Marton Mere would be appreciated.

EVENT - Feed the Birds! at the Community Orchard North Blackpool Pond Trail - Saturday 19th Nov 2.00 - 3.30pm - Meet at the Community Orchard at the end of Salmesbury Avenue FY2 0PS. Join us as we make a variety of bird feeders to help our feathered friends through the coming winter. Hang them up in your garden or along the pond trail. Wear warm outdoor clothing and suitable footwear. Free but a donation to the Friends of the Pond Trail would be appreciated

A mild day 3 - 12C mostly sunny with a light easterly wind

North Shore - Harbour porpoise, grey seal, 11 eiders

Marton Mere LNR - Iceland gull, pink footed goose, 150 wigeon, 49 shovelers, 9 gadwall, 4 curlews, 25 black tailed godwits,  4 water rails, 4 pochards, 6 goldeneyes, goldcrest, 35 fieldfares, 6 Cetti's warblers, 2 buzzards, sparrowhawk

New South Promenade - 23 Whooper swans (N), eider (S), red throated diver, great crested grebe, 1000 common scoters

North Blackpool Pond Tail Kincraig Lake - 2 Pochards

North Blackpool Pond Trail Dumfries pond - Large amount of frog spawn

FAMILY WILDLIFE EVENT - Easter Saturday 26th March 2 - 3.30pm Wildlife on your doorstep. Meet at the North Blackpool Pond Trail Community Orchard Salmesbury Avenue FY2 0PS. Dress for the weather and wear suitable footwear, bring your camera and binoculars if you have them. This event is free but a donation to the Friends of North Blackpool Pond Trail would be appreciated.
