A cool day 3 - 6C heavy rain for most of the day with a moderate but decreasing easterly wind

Marton Mere LNR - 4 Sand martins, chiffchaff, 2 Cetti's warblers, 15 shovelers, 3 great crested grebes, goldeneye, water rail

Town Centre - 2 Grey wagtails

Stanley Park - 2 Pochards, 3 great crested grebes, 2 Mistle thrushes

WILDLIFE EVENT - Family Easter holiday rockpooling event at the Solaris Centre Friday 7th April 2pm – 3pm near the Mirror Ball. Meet at the Solaris Centre, wear wellies or old shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Bring a net and bucket if you have them, a fine meshed net is best.
This event is FREE.

Monday 13th February

Milder than it felt 3 - 9C sunny with a strong cold easterly wind

Marton Mere LNR - Otter, 3 goldeneyes, 65 common gulls, coal tit

Stanley Park - 7 Mistle thrushes

Town Centre - Peregrine

This week is National Nest Box Week - Have you put yours up yet? Don't forget you can put up boxes/cavities for Swifts, cups for House Martins and Swallows and 'terraced' boxes for House sparrows as well as the more familiar hole boxes for blue and Great tits. Old boots and flower pots can make a come for robins and Wrens. Please send us your unusual nest box photos and especially if they get used  later in the season.
