Slightly warmer than average temperatures 13 - 22C but feeling cool in the strong south westerly wind with frequent heavy showers

New South Promenade (National Whale & Dolphin Watch) - 5 Manx shearwaters, 4 gannets

Staining Nook - Weasel

Kipling Drive fields and hedgerows - 40 House sparrows

Marton Mere LNR - Green woodpecker, Mediterranean gull, common tern, grasshopper warbler, buzzard, kestrel, 25 house martins

Wednesday 2nd August

Devonshire Road Rock Gardens - Great spotted woodpecker, sparrowhawk

New South Promenade (National Whale & Dolphin Watch) - Grey seal, peregrine, 56 dunlins, great crested grebe

Town Centre - 3 Peregrines

Mild again 9 - 14C dull with a moderate south westerly wind

Town Centre - Peregrine

Warbreck Hill - Peregrine

North Blackpool Pond Trail Kincraig Lake - 2 Water rails, 5 shovelers, 5 goldcrests

Stanley Park - Coal tit

Starr Gate - Grey seal, 8 great crested grebes, 4 red throated divers, 3 guillemots, razorbill

Marton Mere LNR - Stoat, bearded tit, bittern, 2 stonechats, 9 gadwall, buzzard, sparrowhawk, kestrel

EVENT - North Blackpool Pond Trail - Tuesday 1st Nov 10am - 12 noon - Autumn Explorer - Children's Activity. Your chance to find out about hibernation and how you can help wildlife during the winter. Free but donation to the Friends of the North Blackpool Pond Trail appreciated. Meet at the Community Orchard, Runcorn Avenue FY2 0PS

Wednesday 20th January

Cool start then mild -1 - 6C sunny with a light south easterly wind

Town Centre - Peregrine

North Pier - 50000 Starlings

Solaris Centre - Song thrush

Marton Mere LNR - 2 Long eared owls, barn owl, 5 little grebes, great crested grebe, 2 goldeneyes, 6 pochards, 91 tufted ducks, 153 wigeon, 2 Cetti's warblers, water rail, goldcrest, sparrowhawk, coal tit, 4 reed buntings

Stanley Park - 2 Great spotted woodpeckers, 6 redwings, nuthatch

Offshore - Whiting, codling (reported by anglers)

Lawson's Wetland - Stonechat

This Sunday, 24th Jan, there is a conservation day at Lawson's Wetlands meet at the cul-de-sac end of Lawson's Road near junction with Lancaster Road 10am - 3pm all welcome bring your lunch and wear your wellies
