Slightly warmer than average for mid-February 5 - 8C sunny with occassional showers later with a moderate north westerly wind

New South Promenade - Stonechat, 175 sanderlings, 100 oystercacthers, common scoters, grey wagtail (N), sea mouse (dead on sea wall)

Preston New Road - Iceland gull

Marton Mere LNR - Barn owl, 12 starlings (the smallest murmuration I've ever seen!), grey wagtail, 3 water rails, 3 Cetti's warblers, woodcock, 6 goldeneyes, 110 wigeon, sparrowhawk, kestrel, great spotted woodpecker

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday and Thursday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.
