A cool weekend for late March -2 - 10C, mostly sunny with light variable winds

Sunday 22nd March

Watson Road Park - Sparrowhawk

Stanley Park - 2 Gadwall, pochard, 21 Whooper swans, 3 great crested grebes, 37 tufted ducks, goldcrest, great spotted woodpecker.

Marton Mere LNR - 2 Chiffchaffs, 2 Cetti's warblers, 2 goldcrests, jay, 5 buzzards, sparrowhawk, 2 water rail, 2 little grebes, 5 goldeneyes, 5 tree sparrows

Saturday 21st March

Starr Gate - 3 Whooper swans, 3 red throated divers (S), 4 eiders, 5 shelducks (N), 5 pintails (S)

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.
There may also be some volunteering opportunities suitable for school/works/community groups etc. Contact Annie on 07469 038520 or annie.heslop @ blackpool.gov.uk (without the spaces) for full details of projects, dates and times.

There will be a children's birdwatching guided walk at Marton Mere LNR led by Dave McGrath on Friday 10th April, 2 - 4.00pm. Suitable for youngsters aged 8 and over. To book your child's place phone 01253 478023 (office hours) or email sammyandsally @ blackpool.gov.uk (without the spaces). Please wear suitable footwear and bring binoculars and your camera if you have them.
