Still cool for the time of year 0 - 14C. A mixed weekend with some sunny spells and heavy rain on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. A strong easterly wind lightened and turned south westerly on Monday.

Monday 4th May

Starr Gate - Fulmar (S), 22 gannets, 13 Arctic terns, 8 Sandwich terns, 13 whimbrels (N)

Marton Mere LNR - Swift, 10 whimbrels (on island), whinchat (on island), 12 blackcaps, 2 sedge warblers, 6 reed warblers, 5 Cetti's warblers, 4 chiffchaffs, lesser whitethroat, 4 whitethroats, little grebe, 5 stock doves, orange tip butterfly

De Vere Hotel entrance pond - 2 reed warblers

Lawson's Wetland - Cetti's warbler

Sunday 3rd May

Marton Mere LNR - Green sandpiper, common sandpiper, whinchat, lesser whitethroat, 3 Cetti's warbler

Saturday 2nd May

Stanley Park - 20 Coots, 6 tufted ducks, 4 great crested grebes

Lawson's Wetland - Grasshopper warbler

Marton Mere LNR - Wood warbler, lesser whitethroat, great spotted woodpecker

Friday 1st May

Lawson's Wetland - Roe deer, Cetti's warbler, whitethroat

Gynn Gardens - Redstart, whitethroat, 2 willow warblers

Marton Mere LNR - 4 Chiffchaffs, 3 willow warblers, 2 Cetti's warblers, 6 reed warblers, 2 common sandpipers, buzzard

Staining Nook - Lesser whitethroat

Stanley Park - 2 pairs of Great crested grebes with young, 2 common sandpipers

Warbreck Hill - Chiffchaff, 2 grey lag geese

New South Promenade - Grey seal, 5 Sandwich terns, 4 red throated divers
