Weekend round-up 8th - 10th May

Still cool for early May with temperatures struggling to reach average 2 - 15C mosstly sunny spells with some lengthy periods of rain on Friday. Winds variable in direction and moderate in strength

Sunday 10th May

Marton Mere LNR - 30 Swifts, 15 house martins, 10 swallows,  lesser witethroat, 2 sparrowhawks, buzzard

Stanley Park - Spotted flycatcher

Blackpool 6th form College - 2 Lesser whitethroats, 3 blackcaps,5 linnets

Saturday 9th May

Marton Mere LNR - Common sandpiper, 2 sand martins, great spotted woodpecker, 2 lesser whitethroats, 4 Cetti's warblers, 2 whitethroats, 2 swifts, buzzard, toad.

Lawson's Wetland - Whinchat, 6 reed buntings, 6 swallows, sedge warbler, Cetti's warbler

Watson Road Park - Swift

Friday 8th May

Lawson's Wetland - 2 Sedge warblers, whitethroat, Cetti's warbler, kestrel

Stanley Park - 2 Treecreepers

De Vere hotel entrance pool - Reed warbler, 2 mistle thrushes

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.
