Milder with temperatures just a fraction below average 9 - 20C, mostly sunny spells but with some long spells of heavy rain and generally cool moderate south westerly winds

Monday 3rd August

Marton Mere LNR - 21 Tufred ducks, adult + juv great crested grebes, 4 stock doves

Layton Cemetery - Goldcrest

Devonshire Road Rock Gardens - 3 speckled woods, 2 large whites, 2 small skippers, several meadow browns, grass veneer moths,  honey bees, common carder bees, queen white tailed bumble bee, red soldier beetles, 2 juvenile toads, sparrowhawk

Sunday 2nd August

Warbreck Hill - Peregrine, moths: grey dagger, scalloped oak, clay, marbled beauty, dark arches

Devonshire Road Rock Gardens - 2 white letter hairstreaks

Gynn Square - Grey seal, bar tailed godwit (S), curlew (S), 8 golden plovers (S), 1500 common scoters

Jubille Gardens - Goldcrest

'FY4 allotments' - Grass snake (Probable  eggs and possible sighting of adult - more news if we have any)

Saturday 1st August

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.
