Marton Mere LNR - Osprey (N), 3 whooper swans (N), 100 pink footed geese (N), 8 blackcaps, common sandpiper, little egret, 3 willow warblers, 6 chiffchaffs, 70 sand martins, 2 tree sparrows, 2 lapwings, 2 oystercatchers, 9 stock doves, 2 buzzards, 2 kestrels, sparrowhawk, 35 teal, 2 great crested grebes, little grebe

Lawson's Field - Cetti's warbler, blackcap

Marton Mere LNR - Bittern, osprey (NE), brambling, 100 sand martins, 2 swallows, redshank, siskin, 2 great crested grebes, 6 lapwings, 35 teal, 18 shovelers, 9 linnets, 2 kestrels, reed warbler (a new earliest record for Lancashire), 4 blackcaps, 3 willow warblers, 5 chiffchaffs, 5 Cetti's warblers, 2 little grebes, 5 tawny mining bees, several small tortoiseshells, 2 peacocks, cowslips (in flower) several snakeshead fritillaries (in flower)

Saturday 1st April

Warbreck hill - Pink footed geese (heard going N before dawn)

Washington Avenue - several Tawny mining bees

WILDLIFE EVENT - Family Easter holiday rockpooling event at the Solaris Centre Friday 7th April 2 - 3pm near the Mirror Ball. Meet at the Solaris Centre, wear wellies or old shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Bring a net and bucket if you have them, a fine meshed net is best.
This event is FREE.
