Weekend 17th - 19th March

A  mild weekend 6 - 11C mostly wet with brisk westerly wind, gale force on Friday.

Sunday 19th March

Stanley Park - Chough, treecreeper, sparrowhawk, great crested grebe, 2 goldcrests, mistle thrush, siskin (over), 51 tufted ducks.

Blackpool Zoo - 5 Goklcrests, grey wagtail

Marton Mere LNR - Fox, 3 little grebes, 2 great crested grebes, 15 shovelers, 55 teal, 2 oystercatchers, water rail, 4 Cetti's warblers, 9 linnets.

Mereside - Iceland gull

Saturday 18th March

Stanley Park - Chough (only the 2nd record for the Fylde and 9th for Lancashire), 7 goldcrests

North Shore - 4 Kittiwakes

Marton Mere LNR - Sand martin, chiffchaff, stonechat, 4 Cetti's warblers, water rail, snakeshead fritillaries (a few coming into flower), cowslips (coming into flower)

Ashfield Road pond - Frog, great diving beetle

Friday 17th March

Robin's Lane/Faraday Way - Goldcrrest

North Shore - Gannet, 15 eiders

WILDLIFE EVENT - Family Easter holiday rockpooling event at the Solaris Centre Friday 7th April 2pm – 3pm near the Mirror Ball. Meet at the Solaris Centre, wear wellies or old shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Bring a net and bucket if you have them, a fine meshed net is best.
This event is FREE.
