Cold early morning them very mild -1 - 16C mostly sunny with a moderate easterly at first then decreasing and turning northerly before increasing and veering back easterly

Warbreck Hill - Goldcrest

Starr Gate - 2 Harbour porpoises, grey seal, 3 shags (S), osprey (N), 750 knot, 43 red throated divers, 11 shelducks, 9 great crested grebes, 4 eiders, red breasted merganser (S), lesser redpoll (over)

Marton Mere LNR - Redwing, 3 chiffchaffs, 4 Cetti's warblers, 2 great crested grebes, water rail, sparrowhawk, kestrel

Marton - Goldcrest

Salisbury Woodland Gardens - 2 Nuthatches, treecreeper, 2 goldcrests, chiffchaff, 2 sparrowhawks (over)

Saturday 25th March

Marton Mere LNR - Chiffchaffs ('everywhere'), blackcap, 2 great crested grebes, little grebe, shelduck, 45 teal, 15 shovelers, 8 lapwings, 2 oystercatchers, water rail, 11 stock doves, 25 fieldfares, 4 Mistle thrushes, 10 linnets, 5 Cetti's warblers

Devonshire Road Rock Gardens - Chiffchaff

Stanley Park - Chough, 2 treecreepers, goldcrest, chiffchaff

North Blackpool Pond Trail Kincraig Lake - Little grebe, teal, chiffchaff, heron

Starr Gate - 23 Eiders, 13 red throated divers, red breasted merganser (S), guillemot (S), 4 shelducks, goldcrest, woodpigeon (very scarce here), lesser redpoll (over), greenfinch (over), linnet (over)

Friday 24th March -

Warbreck Hill - Nostoc (a colonial photosynthesising cyanobacteria),

Marton Mere LNR - Little egret (S), 2 great crested grebes, 4 oystercatchers, 2 water rails, 7 stock doves, goldcrest, 3 Chiffchaffs, 4 Cetti's warblers

North Blackpool Pond Trail Low Moor Road - Little egret, heron, 3 chiffchaffs, 2 Mistle thrushes, 2 song thrushes

Moor Park Avenue/Faraday Way - Chiffchaff

WILDLIFE EVENT - Family Easter holiday rockpooling event at the Solaris Centre Friday 7th April 2 - 3pm near the Mirror Ball. Meet at the Solaris Centre, wear wellies or old shoes you don’t mind getting wet. Bring a net and bucket if you have them, a fine meshed net is best.
This event is FREE.
