Tuesday 8th April

A mixed April day temperature-wise starting very cold then becoming much warmer than average 1 - 15C sunny, no wind

North Shore - Harbour porpoise, grey seal, 4 Sandwich terns, gannet, eider, lesser redpoll (N)

Marton Mere LNR - Peregrine, 20 wigeon, 8 swallows, sand martins, curlew (NE), buzzard, Cetti's warbler (heard in wet fields LNR extension, a new location for the species), barn owl, goldeneye

Lawson's Wetland - Cetti's warbler

Heron's Reach - several Small tortoiseshell and peacock butterflies

Marton - 3 Buzzards (circling high)

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.

There will be a children's birdwatching guided walk at Marton Mere LNR led by Dave McGrath on Friday 10th April, 2 - 4.00pm. Suitable for youngsters aged 8 and over. To book your child's place phone 01253 478023 (office hours) or email sammyandsally @ blackpool.gov.uk (without the spaces). Please wear suitable footwear and bring binoculars and your camera if you have them.
