A cool dull April day 2 - 9C mostly cloudy brightening up later with light ot moderate SW winds

Lawson's Wetland - Cetti's warbler, several smooth newts

Marton Mere LNR - Weasel, redstart, 2 wheatears, 150 mixed sand Martins & swallows with a few house martins too, common scoter (male), 7 Cetti's warblers, 8 willow warblers, 5 blackcaps, reed warbler, sedge warbler, 5 chiffchaffs, 2 common sandpipers, 2 little grebes, sparrowhawk, 20 linnets, 2 tree sparrows, first bluebells in flower

New South Promenade - Grey seal, 5 eiders, 75 common scoters, red throated diver, 3 Sandwich terns, guillemot, 2 grey plovers (S), Caspian gull (probable - awaiting expert confirmation or otherwise)

Town Centre - Peregrine

Staining Nook - 2 Blackcaps, 2 chiffchaffs, whitethroat, 3 house martins

Stanley Park - Common sandpiper, grey wagtail, 15 swallows

North Blackpool Pond Trail Kincraig Lake - Great spotted woodpecker

Volunteer Days at Marton Mere LNR are now every Tuesday 10am - 3pm - All welcome. Wear suitable footwear and bring your lunch.
