Another hot day 10 - 24C sunny with a moderate south easterly wind


Heron's Reach - 2 skuas (over very high SW - probably Arctic skuas), sparrowhawk, several dead shrews again


Marton - Mallard (female + 9 well grown juvs in a garden), pipistrelle bat


Town Centre - 2 Peregrines


New South Promenade - Grey seal, many blennies (mostly juveniles), many sand gobies, common prawns, brown shrimps, several green shore crabs


Marton Mere LNR - Greenshank, redshank, 13 curlews (over), great crested grebe (juv), 5 sand martins (SE), 2 swifts, 32 tufted ducks, 2 kestrels, 3 brown hawkers, migrant hawker dragonfly


Washington Avenue - Swift, painted lady butterfly


North Blackpool Pond Trail Kincraig Lake - Kingfisher, goldcrest, 2 juv great crested grebes


Gynn Gardens - Whitethroat
Redshank at Marton Mere
EVENT - Everything about Birds at Kincraig Lake (FY2 0HN) Tuesday 23rd August  10am - 12 a lively family event to learn everything about birds with expert Charlie Pass. Free but donation to the Friends of the North Blackpool Pond Trail would be appreciated

EVENT - Marton Mere LNR Tots go Wild (Flower power) Friday 21st August 10.30am - 12 Meet at the visitor centre. Parent and toddler sessions focusing on having fun outdoors. Wear outdoor cloths. £3 per child. Suitable for under 5's

EVENT - Marton Mere LNR Kids go Wild Saturday 22nd August 10.30am - 12 Meet at the visitor centre. Investigating the incredible world of plants. Wear outdoor cloths. £3 per child. Suitable 5-10 years

EVENT - Marton Mere LNR Junior Rangers go Wild Saturday 22nd August 1pm - 2.30pm Meet at the visitor centre. Investigating the incredible world of plants. Wear outdoor cloths. £3 per child. Suitable for 11-16yrs
